This may be a result of hereditary factors or due to chronic lack of sleep, lack of water intake, iron, alcohol, smoking, kidney, or thyroid disease. It may be due to hyperpigmentation of the skin or it may be age-related – reduced collagen production and changes in bone structure. In the fight against dark circles under the eyes, the lifestyle must be changed – enough sleep, hydration, no smoking, and intake of large amounts of alcohol, and food with a high mineral content. There are also procedures to deal with them – mesotherapy, plasma therapy, and fat transfer in this area.
Mesotherapy – an injection procedure that successfully treats dark circles and bags under the eyes. It is performed to hydrate the skin, fight pigmentation and the earliest signs of aging. A local anesthetic may be used before the procedure. Through repeated punctures, a complex of useful minerals and amino acids is introduced, which are delivered to the mesoderm. A slight bump (papule) forms at the site of the sting, which disappears completely within a day. The result is firming, improving the elasticity and appearance of the skin, and smoothing fine wrinkles. Facial skin looks younger and fresher.
Plasma therapy – mesotherapy with own plasma. It is a subtle way of rejuvenating the skin, making it more dense, elastic, and firm. The method is based on platelets, which are small cells containing many growth factors necessary for the recovery processes in the body. At the start of the procedure, 8-9 ml of venous blood is taken from the patient, after which it is centrifuged and the blood elements are separated from the liquid component. The resulting plasma is rich in platelets. It is introduced into the superficial, medium or deep layers of the skin with a series of microinjections. The application of the procedure is based on the fact that the growth factors released by the platelets increase the production of collagen and elastin, stimulate the migration of many cells, production of hyaluronic acid, and normalization of tissue respiration.
Lipolifting – a procedure that is used to rejuvenate the face, and tighten the arms, chest, and buttocks by transferring excess fatty tissue from different parts of the body. In the facial area, it can be applied as a correction of nasolabial, and marionette wrinkles, around the eyes, lip enlargement, adding volume to the cheekbones and cheeks. Excess fat tissue is taken from another part of the body and after special treatment, it is used to fill in the expressed unwanted lines. An important condition is that the patient is not too thin to have enough fat tissue to be transferred to the desired area. The procedure can be performed under local or general anesthesia. The duration is about 2 – 3 hours, depending on the volume of fat tissue to be transferred.
The three types of procedures can be performed at any time of the year and must be tailored to the individual characteristics of the patient and accompanying diseases.
